Jessica Vogel Brown, founder of Hardly Soft, is an artist and designer who developed her love for the tactile, and relationship to the elemental, as a mixed media sculptor and installation artist. Her sensitivity toward transformation and appreciation of art in collaboration with the human form led her to furniture design and the medium of concrete.
Born, raised and residing in New Orleans, Brown is acutely aware of the joys and challenges of shifting states and the necessity of sustainability. She finds herself drawn to contrast, and designs with the aim of creating curiosity and inspiring tactile experiences.
Trained in sculpture at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MFA), Jessica has learned from, and continues to study under, leaders in the industry of concrete design.
